Why do you need to trim your hair? Because I am obsessed with anything hair… :). OK, seriously, I think the major reason is growth! As part of my natural hair care routine, I trim my hair every 4-6 weeks.
However, I only just started doing this, as I had the mind set of ‘someone has to do it for me, because I cannot do it myself’.
This has since changed because, I have learnt a lesson in life and that is: there is absolutely nothing you cannot do, you only need to set your mind to it.
Besides, who would have thought that I would keep up with a diet plan for two weeks now? What a ‘wawu’!!! But, I digress. This post is about hair care, not weight loss.
On a side note though, I always found the idea of trimming your hair for better strength and hair growth very funny. I love my hair so much, and I find it difficult to part with it (that is why I could not do a big chop…lol).
There are few reasons why you should trim your hair, and they are all very essential for proper and efficient hair care. The reasons include:
- To get rid of the dead and split ends. When you trim your split ends, it literally gives your hair breathing space to grow, glow, and flourish
- It helps hair breakage. It can be very annoying to see your hair shed a lot because it is unhealthy
- The summary is: it keeps your hair healthy, and healthy hair means consistent and healthy growth, and what’s not to love about that?
How do you trim your hair?
I used to wait until my younger sister comes over and then she would help me trim my hair, but now I do it all by myself (happy dance), and I made a video showing you all how you can easily trim your hair yourselves.
